FIRST CUPCAKES: INTERVIEW WITH MY DAUGHTER
My daughter made cupcakes for the first time. She took a Yellow Cupcakes With Simple Chocolate Frosting recipe from Baking Illustrated. I thought I'd interview her and she what she says about this first experience.
DID YOU ENJOY BAKING YOUR FIRST CUPCAKES?
Yes, I did. It took a lot of math but it was still fun.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THAT SPECIFIC RECIPE?I have made cookies and brownies before so I wanted to try something new. So I chose cupcakes.
CAN YOU COOK?
Nope.
IF YOU HAVE TO CHOOSE, WHICH ONE WOULD YOU PREFER, BAKING OR COOKING?
Baking. Cooking seems a whole lot harder and probably more math (the less math the better). Besides our lovely mother cooks so I decided to leave that specialty to her.
HOW DID YOUR FIRST CUPCAKES TURN OUT?
Dry and the frosting was just a tad bit too chocolaty.
WOULD YOU DO ANYTHING DIFFERENTLY?
I would sift the dry ingredients better, put all the required sour cream in next time and look for 2/3 measuring cup.
WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO MAKE NEXT TIME?
Well....that depends. I would love to make the impossible but for next time, I think a Jelly Roll of some sort.
So there you have it. I think the Jelly Roll will be a challenge...
Thanks for reading!
